Eid Al Adha is a great feast reminding all Muslims the sacrifice of Ishmael, Abraham's son to his God.

The question is what place Eid Al Adha take in Islam. Eid is simply the day after the pilgrims gather on Mount ARAFAT. This period of celebration begins on the 10th of the month of Dhou Al Hajja, the last of Muslims calendar. The celebration usually lasts 4 days but the sacrifice takes place before the sunset of the 13th day.

Eïd Al Adha and stoning of the Devil

Devil's stoning ritual coincides with the first day of Eid Al Adha.
In Muslims tradition, it’s the symbolic of showing the resistance of Abraham to the Devil who appeared in three different places to dissuade him from sacrificing his son as commanded by God.

But Abraham received as a gift a sheep to slaughter in the place of his son.
Traditionally it is the pilgrims who slaughter their own animals or watch the slaughter act, but nowadays it exists many centralized butchers for the sacrifices and the meat is been then packaged and shipped to poor people all over the world.
