The origin of the story

The story of Ibrahim's sacrifice: Eid-al-Adha is a day to celebrate the occasion when Allah order Ibrahim, in a dream,to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God.

The devil tempted Ibrahim by saying he should disobey Allah and spare his son. As Ibrahim was about to kill his son, Allah stopped him by giving him a lamb to sacrifice instead.

Conditions to be fulfilled for the Muslim and the Cattle.

The Muslim person

It is normally the head of the family who must perform this rite. But he can ask another person to do it if he cannot do it. Indeed, the link between the sacrificed Cattle and the sacrificer is important, because the two creatures will submit together to the creator.

The animal

The texts refer to an animal over one year old who is neither one-eyed, nor blind, nor puny, nor physically handicapped.

The sacrifice

The sacrifice of the sheep of Eid must be done with the intention of doing it, as soon as the animal is bought. The sacrifice must be done after Eid Prayer.
